Overview

SEO On-Page: Schema / Structured Data Skill is an open-source Agent Skill from the kostja94/marketing-skills collection (MIT). It teaches AI coding agents focused marketing / SEO workflows so they can produce production-ready guidance instead of generic advice.

Guides implementation of Schema.org structured data (JSON-LD) for rich snippets, enhanced search results, and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).

Identify: 1. Page type: Article, Product, FAQ, Organization, JobPosting, Event, etc. 2. Content: What entities to describe 3. Goal: Rich snippets, AI Overview visibility, Knowledge Panel

Official skill id: schema-markup. Source path: skills/seo/on-page/schema.

Key Features

  • S: chema markup: Schema.org types for rich results, AI search visibility, and machine-readable content
  • S: chema.org vs. search engines: Schema.org defines 800+ types; each search engine supports only a subset for rich results
  • R: ich results: Schema-powered enhancements to standard listings (stars, breadcrumbs, FAQ dropdowns, product info). Appear within organic positions; do not require top-10 rank.
  • F: eatured snippets: Google-extracted answer boxes at position zero. No schema required; content structure matters. Schema (FAQPage, HowTo, Article) can support extraction.
  • A: I meal planner (e.g., generates weekly meal plans with recipes) → Add Recipe schema to each recipe/meal page; Article or WebPage for landing pages
  • A: I writing tool → SoftwareApplication on product page; Article on blog

FAQ

How do I install this skill?

npx skills add https://github.com/kostja94/marketing-skills --skill schema-markup

Or copy the skill folder into .cursor/skills/, .agents/skills/, or .claude/skills/.

Does this skill run code on my machine?

No. Skills in this collection are pure Markdown instructions for agents — no executable payloads.

Can I install only this skill instead of the full pack?

Yes. Prefer --skill schema-markup for a single task. Install 2–3 related skills per job rather than the entire library.

Where should I add project context?

Copy templates/project-context.md from the repo into .cursor/ or .claude/ and fill in product, audience, and brand details so outputs stay tailored.
