Skills How-to Claude Code Cursor Prompt
Most Skills on FlowCay are open GitHub packages for agent hosts like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor. You do not have to install Node.js or type terminal commands yourself — you can ask the agent to install the Skill with a prompt.
Method 1 — Prompt (recommended if you don’t use the terminal)
- Open a Skill on the Skills library and go to its tool page.
- Under Visit, copy the install prompt (FlowCay fills in the GitHub URL and skill name for you).
- Paste it into your AI agent (Claude Code, Cursor Agent, Codex, Claude Desktop chat with tools, etc.).
- Let the agent finish install, then ask it to confirm the Skill is ready.
Prompt template (fill in yourself)
If the page has no copy button, paste this and replace the placeholders:
Please install the following Skill for me. I am not comfortable using the terminal and may not have Node.js set up.
GitHub repo: https://github.com/OWNER/REPO
Skill name: SKILL-NAME (delete this line if the whole repo is one skill)
Recommended install command (run this yourself if you can): npx skills add https://github.com/OWNER/REPO --skill SKILL-NAME
Install it for me: run the command above, or place SKILL.md in the correct skills folder for this product (Claude Code / Cursor / Codex, etc.).
When done, confirm the Skill is available and briefly tell me how to invoke it.
Whole-repo example (no --skill):
Please install the following Skill for me. I am not comfortable using the terminal and may not have Node.js set up.
GitHub repo: https://github.com/OWNER/REPO
Recommended install command (run this yourself if you can): npx skills add https://github.com/OWNER/REPO
Install it for me: run the command above, or place SKILL.md in the correct skills folder for this product (Claude Code / Cursor / Codex, etc.).
When done, confirm the Skill is available and briefly tell me how to invoke it.
Method 2 — Install command (if you use the terminal)
- Same Skill tool page → copy the install command, for example:
npx skills add https://github.com/owner/repo
or for a monorepo folder:
npx skills add https://github.com/owner/repo --skill skill-name
- Requires Node.js so
npxworks. - Paste into a terminal, run it, then reopen the agent session if needed.
| Source link | Typical command |
|---|---|
| Repo root | npx skills add https://github.com/owner/repo |
Nested /tree/<branch>/<skill> | npx skills add https://github.com/owner/repo --skill <skill> |
Manual fallback
Non-GitHub links or special installs: follow the project README (clone, plugin marketplace, zip). Exact skills folders differ by host — check that product’s docs.
Tips
- Prefer the prompt on FlowCay when you don’t want to touch Node or CLI.
- Only install Skills you trust; skim
SKILL.mdwhen unsure. - Skills are playbooks; pair with MCP for live APIs.
