Overview

Claude Ads is an open-source, Claude-first paid-media operations toolkit for agencies, consultants, and in-house performance teams. It turns authorized account exports or approved account reads into evidence-backed audits, channel and budget plans, creative workflows, experiments, monitoring, and reports. The public release lives at AgriciDaniel/claude-ads under the MIT license; a community mirror also exists for AI Marketing Hub Pro members.

The system is read-only by default. Drafting account changes is supported, but live mutations stay disabled until the exact platform and operation pass approval, idempotency, verification, audit, and rollback gates. Results are produced as versioned JSON first, then rendered to Markdown, HTML, and optional PDF. Missing data, stale sources, contradictions, and partial failures are reported instead of being silently papered over.

Key Features

  • Twelve advertising surfaces: Search, video, and social coverage for Google Ads, Meta Ads, YouTube Ads, LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Reddit Ads, Snapchat Ads, and X Ads, plus commerce and retail media for Apple Ads, Amazon Ads, and Pinterest Ads. Each platform has a focused skill, audit worker, control reference, and capability declaration.
  • Lifecycle commands: A shared /ads (or Claude Code plugin /claude-ads:ads) interface for setup, audit, plan, create, launch --draft, monitor, optimize --draft, experiment, report, research refresh, validate, status, and next — with platform shortcuts such as /ads google, /ads meta, and /ads amazon.
  • Evidence-aware scoring: Controls score as pass, fail, unknown, or not_applicable. Health, evidence coverage, regulatory exposure, and opportunities stay separate; low coverage grades a run provisional or insufficient rather than inventing confidence.
  • Creative and research workers: Copy, image, video, and product-photo briefs; competitor and landing workflows; dated source refresh for platform policy and ecosystem claims.
  • Safety-first mutations: Writes require enabled capabilities, explicit object IDs, human-readable diffs, owner approval within ceilings, idempotency keys, audit destinations, rollback, and verification. Permanent deletion is not supported in v2. Credentials stay in env vars, OS keychains, or secret managers — never in the repo or reports.
  • Portable Agent Skills pack: Besides Claude Code's plugin marketplace install, the same skill files can be consumed by Codex, Gemini, Cursor, Windsurf, Goose, and other Skills-compatible hosts via the project's install scripts.

How to Use

  1. Prefer Claude Code as the canonical runtime, or another Skills-compatible host that can load the repository skills.
  2. For Claude Code, add the marketplace and install the plugin:
    /plugin marketplace add agricidaniel/claude-ads
    /plugin install claude-ads@ai-marketing-hub-claude-ads

If you previously installed under the stale alias agricidaniel-claude-ads, remove that marketplace alias first, then re-add and install as above. Alternatively clone https://github.com/AgriciDaniel/claude-ads.git and run bash install.sh --source=local (or install.ps1 on Windows). Use --target=codex / gemini for other hosts; --no-deps installs skills only.
  3. Reload the client, then run /ads setup to create the client, account, KPI, privacy, and guardrail profile.
  4. Feed authorized exports or approved reads and run /ads audit, /ads plan, /ads create, or platform shortcuts. Use --draft modes for launch and optimize so accounts are not changed by default.
  5. Review the JSON run bundle and rendered reports before acting. Keep credentials out of git history, profiles, and shared reports. Browser capture needs an operator-installed Playwright browser; PDF rendering needs WeasyPrint/Pango as documented in the repo's external runtime dependency manifest.

Pricing

Claude Ads public release is free and open source under the MIT license. No membership is required for the AgriciDaniel/claude-ads GitHub repository. Optional early access and collaboration for some community features are described around AI Marketing Hub Pro (Skool); that membership is separate from the MIT-licensed public code. Check the repository README and Skool page for current community offerings.

Best For

Performance marketers, ecommerce growth teams, and agencies that want repeatable, evidence-backed paid-media audits and drafts inside Claude Code or compatible agents — including Amazon Ads alongside Meta, Google, TikTok, and other channels. Best when you can supply real account exports or approved API reads. Not a replacement for ad-platform UIs when you need one-click live bidding without review gates.

FAQ

Will Claude Ads change my ad accounts automatically?

Not by default. Adapters are read-only until an operation is explicitly enabled and approved through the project's safety gates. Prefer --draft for launch and optimize.

Which platforms are first-class?

Google, Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Microsoft, Reddit, Snapchat, X, Apple, Amazon, and Pinterest Ads, as listed in the project README platform table.

How do I install it?

Claude Code plugin marketplace install is the recommended path; local install.sh / install.ps1 from a git clone supports Claude, Codex, Gemini, and skill-only installs.

Is it only for Claude?

Claude Code is the canonical runtime, but the skill files are designed to be portable to other Agent Skills hosts where supported.
